T-Deck Plus (915Mhz) on Meshcore - 2026-01-04

I purchased a 915Mhz T-Deck Plus on Amazon Australia.

I purchased the one with LILYGO Firmware as I could just flash meshcore firmware on it myself for free, saving some money.

I chose meshcore instead of meshtastic due to:

Once it arrived, I flashed the Ripple GUI for meshcore for the T-Deck from https://flasher.meshcore.co.uk/

Note that you need to use a Chromium based browser as the flasher uses the Web-USB protocol, which most other browsers don't support.

I flashed version 7.14, which is the latest at the time of writing.

I send many test messages in my area (Postcode 2217, Australia), however I did not receive any response.

Hopefully more people in my area hop on board.

I also downloaded some maps to use with the built-in GPS.

You can download the map files I used here. You then need to create a directory named "tiles" on your T-Decks SD Card. Then copy the directories 0-9 from the extracted downloaded .zip file in the "tiles" directory.

By default, the ripple meshore firmware only lets you zoom in 7 times from the maximum zoom out. In order to allow your T-Deck to use more detailed map tiles (level 8+), you need to "unlock" your software. This costs 8 GBP which is used to support the developer.

The total height of the T-Deck Plus and its antenna is ~29cm.
